Hypromellose

Hypromellose (INN), short for hydroxypropyl methylcellulose or hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC), is a semisynthetic, inert, viscoelastic polymer used in eye drops, as well as an excipient and controlled-delivery component in oral medicaments, found in a variety of commercial products.
